Boys varsity soccer

The Hillcrest Boys Varsity Soccer Team are off to a better start this year compared to last year’s season, with seven wins and two losses so far.
The Hillcrest Boys Varsity Soccer Team have faced Townsend Harris with a win5-3, Queens High School of Teaching, 5-1, Thomas Edison, 4-1 and tore down Queens School of Inquiry 11-1. Their losses were against Robert F. Kennedy, 3-2, and Townsend Harris, 3-2, however, this does not hold them back from aiming towards the championships
The Boys Varsity Soccer Team has plenty of star players on the team. Some of these star players include Kerstin Lormera, the team captain, scoring nine goals and three assists, Brayan Manzano, the team goalie, scoring seven goals and eight saves, and Jose Martinez, scoring four goals and three saves.
With a numerous amount of seniors and juniors alike, on the Boys Varsity Soccer Team, the team is challenging themselves to try their best to make it to the championship. “I want my team and I to actually win the division and make it to the playoffs,” states Manzano. Lormera added , “There’s no rivalry between my team and I, we’re a good one [United]. The team is a lot better this year. I want to win as many games as possible, but I can’t do it alone, it needs to be done as a team.”
The effervescent spirit of the team is resounding, as they are off to a dominating season. We all hope that The Boys Varsity Soccer Team continues to strive to bring the championship home. Good luck team!
