benefits of fracking not worth the risk

If you own a car and you purchase gas on a daily basis for your car then you will understand the cost of gas in the United States. In some states, gas is sold cheaper by other gas stations. One reason for the decreasing cost of fuel in the United States is Fracking.
Fracking is a hydraulic method of syphoning fuel from inside the Earth. The process of hydraulic fracturing in the Earth is used to drill several wells in the Earth. When water is pumped, it causes fissures in the rock to branch off which causes oil and gas to release with the water and then comes back up to the storage tanks. This method has been used for the last sixty-five years. Cheaper gas prices are both good for the “everyday mom” who drives or the business executive who drives from Long Island to Queens every day. While it may appear that fracking can be beneficial, the realities are that the drilling can be very detrimental to us.
Fracking chemicals have been known to contaminate water. In several homes in Pennsylvania, traces of toxic fluids have been found in normal everyday drinking water. In 2010, a similar lawsuit was filed against The Chesapeake Energy Corporation for 1 million dollars. According to TheVerge.com, researchers found that methane and a Butoxyethanol or 2-BE are found in home cleaning products and cosmetics, but have caused tumors in rodents. After the lawsuit in 2010, the states of New York and Vermont banned Fracking and the Obama Administration created new regulations.
Besides the affected people right now, fracking is said to create a risk for mothers to have premature babies. Pennsylvania, after extensive research, seems to have the most fracking happening. According to Treehugger.com, 8,000 wells have been used to bring up oil. Statistics have been observed and majority of premature babies from 2009 to 2013 have not been caused by smoking totally.
Terminating fracking means less money; therefore, several corporations have begun to fight back. Fracking companies say that their process is done safely and there is no chemical used in the process. These corporations argue and say that if the chemicals were a harm to people, then why is it not a harm in everyday household products?
However, the drilling fluid used to release the oil in the well has toxic compound, and researchers argue that these fracking companies are to blame. Recently after seeing the damage fracking had cost people, Obama decided to create rules and regulations against it. A Wyoming judge denied the rules and regulations that Obama proposed because it gave more power to the government to decide and less to the state. The Bureau of Land Management right now has a decreasing amount of say in decisions that involve fracking. Not only did the state counter claim the health hazards, but they touched upon the cost that these new rules and regulations would cost us.
We have to think about how this will affect other states and cities where we live. Do we really want to drink contaminated water for gas in our cars that we cause pollution with? Is there a safer way to do this? Since the beginning of fracking, it has done good for us, so we do not have to be interdependent on other countries for oil. However when you are not in the circle, environmentalist see the the dangers that trail in and around the method used to secrete oil.
