iPhone 6 is Better, but Not Enough to Stack Up to Its Competition
By Rohit Pollock, Junior Writer
In today’s world, people can't imagine their life without technology. Companies surrounding us with new, innovative technologies are helping people to live their lives more easily. It also made people communicate with others. Phones play an important role in our daily life. We should realize about the advantages and disadvantages about the phone before we buy them. But now it became so serious that phone companies are competing about who can build the best phones. iPhone recently released its iPhone 6 in the hopes of competing with other smartphones, but their newest model is clearly a rip off of what other companies are doing.
Before Apple company used to make iPhones 4 inches tall, other companies such as LG and Samsung built their phones 5 inches with better specs in it. So, Apple decided to build their iPhone 6 much bigger than before -- 4.7 inches for standard size iPhone 6 and 5.5 inches iPhone 6 Plus with the specs in it.
They tried to make it like the LG G3, but they failed. The LG G3 has the same size screen as iPhone 6 Plus, but it has much longer battery life and has the capacity of making 4k videos where iPhone 6 Plus can only make 1080p videos.
Initially, Apple’s new largest phone, iPhone 6 Plus got bad reviews because the entire phone bends in the pocket. A Youtuber, Lewis Hilsenteger (Unboxtherapy), proves it in one of his ‘Bend Gate Test’ videos. He completely bent his iPhone 6 Plus, but when he tried to bend the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One M8 and MOTO X with the same force, they didn’t even bend. If you put 70 pounds of pressure on an iPhone 6 Plus, it is going to bend where the S5 has double the durability at 150 lbs.
Even though it has some negative effects, the iPhone also has some positive effects. People will now be able to pay the price of the things they buy from grocery stores, electronic shops, and shopping malls by using the touch ID app. You don’t have to carry your credit card all the time. It is the thinnest phone out of all the best smartphones in the world. They also improved the battery life. Its not comparable to LG G3, but it is better than the previous iPhones sporting a 1810 mAh battery capacity. The camera quality is also good, even though it has a 8mp camera which is nothing compared to Samsung Galaxy S5’s camera.
A bigger screen doesn't make a phone the best phone in the world, nor does making your phone thinner. In order to make the best phone in the world, it has to have a great battery life, a good camera. Lets hope Apple will use their billions of dollars to make the iPhone 7 the best of all the smartphones in the world. They can start by not having it bend in half.
