Mr. Ertel says that as a guidance counselor he has a lot of work to do. He does a lot to help his students out. He says that “They are fine, Pre-med students are no different than other students.”
Mr. Ertel says that he loves these students and Hillcrest. He says that he doesn’t really feel like he has been impacted by being a guidance counselor, but he has impacted his students and others as well.
Many students in Pre-Med have built a strong relationship with Mr. Ertel. Students such as Isabelle Di Gaudio and Sana Abid, who are Pre-Med Juniors say that it gets stressful every year, but the teachers help them and also really push them every year to do their best, and that every teacher has a unique way of teaching.
Mr. Ertel cares and loves his students a lot. Isabelle says that “Every time I go to him with a problem either school related or family related, he is always there to help me every way possible”.
Sana also agrees with Isabelle but adds on saying that Mr. Ertel gives his time to talk to his students. She says “Despite the number of students in Pre-Med, Mr. Ertel finds a way to speak to everyone of the students individually”. Sana also says that Mr. Ertel knows what’s best for his students and always finds a way to help them. These Pre-Med students speak for others and say that they love Mr. Ertel as their guidance counselor.
