Sherwin Shows A Kind Heart In Supporting His Fellow Classmates
By Nataleh Wallace, Junior Writer
Sherwin Striggles is known to be the “star student” of his SLC, Teachers of Tomorrow, a fact supported by guidance counselor, Ms. Bhanot, among many others. From good grades to a caring heart and lending hand for his fellow companions, he has all of the characteristics of a “star student”.
Success starts within yourself, which explains Sherwin's accomplishments over the years of his high school experience. Sherwin pondered upon the idea, “My self-motivation comes from my overall competitive attitude towards others.” Teachers that he has worked with constantly stress the difficulty of getting into good colleges, and this is where his self-motivation comes in.
Sherwin is involved in the TAS Program, which allows him to help teachers improve student learning potential. Sherwin recalls the experience,“The feeling you get from helping others understand something they normally wouldn’t is great!” He has been helping some of this year’s freshmen with their daily lessons in Algebra, in order to help them improve in this particular subject.
The students who struggle, as far as passing their classes and managing good grades, can always look to others for help. It is also effective when struggling students receive support from teachers and fellow students because it motivates them to work to the best of their ability. Sherwin is a good example of this because he helps those in need.
Sherwin Striggles is a very serviceable student in his SLC. Students can come to him for help with subjects they are struggling with, such as Algebra. Sherwin also sets an example for his peers by trying his best to keep up with his school work, getting good grades and having a kind heart. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
